The problem nobody talks about at conferences
Here's what I've observed across dozens of organizations and eighteen years in this industry:
We've gotten remarkably good at the technical parts of QA. Test automation frameworks. CI/CD integration. Shift-left testing. API testing tools. The machinery of quality has never been better.
And yet. Knowledge still walks out the door every time someone leaves.
Teams three floors apart solve the same problems in isolation. Junior testers stall at "competent" because there's no visible path to "excellent." QA leads get promoted and immediately feel imposter syndrome because nobody taught them how to lead.
The machinery works. The humans operating it? They're often struggling alone. That's the gap I work in. Not tools. Not frameworks. The human infrastructure of quality.

Background
Currently full-time employed as a QA specialist in an organization in finance industry in Finland. Active speaker at QA & testing conferences, e.g. Swiss Testing Day 2025 and TestCon Europe 2024 and 2025. Twice nominated in "Vuoden Testaaja" (Tester of the Year) competition by Sytyke ry.
